My 7 inch Brycon have recently slaughtered 1 yellow tailed baracudda, an armatus, and an 8 inch dovii. I'm hoping to find something that will work but I really don't want to see anymore fish die. Anyone think a wolf fish, jardini arowana, fahaka puffer, or some kind of piranha would work? Or would those end up killing my Brycon?

Sounds like just about anything you put in there is going to have a rough time since the brycon is already established in it's territory. What size tank is t in?

Sorry thought I stated tank size. 200 gallon. I feel like they wouldnt be able to mess with a wolf fish or fahaka puffer. Maybe aba aba knife fish? Just wondering because id like a little more to look at in my tank since my pike hides all the time and I don't have the space for another tank in my house

wolf fish should be fine. i had that combo for a while in a 75. Jardini and piranha will definitely not work. make sure the wolf fish is of same size but they hold their and dont stress like your previous tank mates. Make sure the wolf fish has places to hide especially in the beginning the brycon might try to be territorial towards anything.

Iv heard that once some brycon reach a certain size they cant be kept with anything but your best bet is a large cat or a wolf fish is even better because it has teeth of its own. goodluck

Yea Im having the same problem with my brycon melanopterus it was attacking a bigger odoe pike and lima shovel nose so I had to remove him, and he's already killed 2 other brycons, and 2 peacock bass.

yea sometimes they cant live with fish that normally reside in the same water column as them but sometimes they are just as viscous as piranhas with more speed.

Okay sounds like a plan. Was the wolf fish any fun to keep? I know they kinda just sit around until the lights are off. Damn I wish snakeheads were legal.

That would work, but I'm def not into catfish. I'm ordering ten exodon and seeing what happens. Wish me luck

i have a 8" brycon dentex with a 6" fahaka, 2 3" doviis, 3 3" splendidas, an 8" tsnxrtc, a 5" synodontus cat, and two 4" aulancara koreliae(spelling?) in a 55. he is still a bit of a jerk but hasn't done any damage since being crowded, and the fahaka keeps him in his place. they are a schooling fish in the wild and crowding them may be the key to curbbing aggression, just like any other super aggressive schooling fish.
