brycon hilarii diet?

i have a 10" brycon hilarii.. just got it today, can anyone inform me what kinds of food for it? cause i read some article that the diet for this fish is fruit.. i mean seriously, i wont give fruit into my tank, can anyone that has brycon hilarii tell me what are the diet for this fish? aside from fruit of course.. *sorry for my bad english*

They are omnivores, feed it nls or hikari cichlid excel

thanks.. i tried small gold fish but he/she wont eat it, tried field cricket and he/she ate it

I have a 14" hilarii and they eat anything, I feed koi pellets, dried shrimp and pretty much bits of anything I feed to rest of my fish.
