I know bts.net uses aspen shavings.I use the aspen snake bedding for my boa wich is the thinner cut stuff. They say not to use that on the bts but to use the shavings, more square type. How would one of those square larger chunks not be bad and hard to get through its intestines if eaten? It seems like it would be bad to me.Are the paper products better other than care fresh wich is too dusty for me.Like the paper pellet type.I stood in pet co for an hour reading these things and got none.I had bags of the slivery aspen at home but read just incase and found they dont recomend it.Kind of in a hurry here,lol.Help.

I keep mine on a mix of coco fibre and fir bark... no problem here either.

I use the finer aspen, and have never had a problem.
for how long,my snakes use it too and Im not picking wood out of their noses ever. How can ppl say its ok for snakes but not bts, they both got nostrils and snakes even more so need a dust free and safe substrate with the one functioning lung thing.IS that still what science tells us about snakes,2 lungs but only 1 really does any work?

I think I went with paper to start, but that was only for a little while, so I'd say it's been on aspen for roughly 3 1/2 years? I've never had one issue with it.
