so is the only bad thing about it is it over grows some corals? because i kinda like the stuff and wouldn't mind trying to grow it in my future tank.. does it still remove nitrates as well as other macro algae? and how exatly does it reproduce, i've read poping them spreads them.. any info would be great

Yes, it does absorb nutrients and can grow quite quickly in a nutrient rich enviroment..It spreads by the pores popping which can be done by hermits or fish...
