Now I have been running a sponge filter in all my tank for years now, for obvious reasons. But recently have I have seen other MFKer's running there sponge filter with a power head.

Question is which setup is better for bio filtration?

Running a powerhead helps draw in more water so it does more mechanical filtration. Running a bubbler helps add oxygen to water and break up surface tension with bubbles, and fish play in bubbles.

They look different too, depending on your tank design.

Either works fine though.

Same answer here....if it is going to be the main filter power heads are a good idea,if you have mech. Filtration already it might be better to use air
