I just got a 36" flexible bubbler to go across the back of my 65g. I've had it in lace for about 20 minutes now and I'm noticing a lot of extra noise from my canister, it sounds like its purging air once every minute or two.

A) Is this bad for the canister
B) is it easy to avoid without moving the intake or the bubbler (sponge around the intake?)

I'd say the only way is to move the bubbler or the intake. Otherwise you'll impeed flow to the unit.

I agree, the sponge around the intake will get dirty really fast and impeed the flow and you'll get tired of cleanning it al the time. The cavatation caused by the bubbler is not good for the filter.

just put it in a way so that the bubbles dont go into ur canister

off topic but my 8-9" oscar started forming my 48" flexible bubbler into w.e shape he wants

Well I wanted the bubble wall across the entire back glass, but I can't do that AND not have the intake in the airstream. Can't have it all I guess:\

edit: Ended up stretching it across the backwall in kind of a sloped fashion...put a suction cup on each end and shaped it a bit like a hill so that its just about the intake on the right side and right at the substrate on the left. The contrast of bubbles on top & flat black underneath makes it look kind of like an abstract hill or something...we like it anyways, I'll try and put a picture up later.
