The water here is usually pretty hard with a pH of 8. My tank temp was 83F and tap water was probably 69F. I usually drain 30% and fill back 30% from the garden hose after dosing a teaspoon of Prime in my tank. I had a bunch of micro bubbles floating in my tank after doing a waterchange today. Does anyone know why?

When the weather gets cold, the water can hold more dissolved gasses...My guess would be that the water is just gassing out more than what you are used to, in the summer :) I do way less water changes in the winter, and a TON come spring/summer...Hope this helps.

Your theory is right on. It has been about 15-20 degrees colder the past two days. I usually do waterchange during the day so the water is probably a few degrees warmer. Now that I thought about it I think my tap water is below 60F. Are the dissolved gases in the water toxic to my fish?

Yes...They can cause gas embolism...VERY VERY common cause of death in the aquaria (during colder months, or from cold water sources), that goes relatively un noticed...You can age some water in the winter to help with the amount of water you can change. Just get some cheap rubber maid garbage cans, fill them up, and run airstones....If you can swing it, you can heat this water, and increase your WC ability even more so.

What did you meant "Swing it"? I don't understand. I usually fill water straight from the garden hose and add 2-3 gallons of super hot water to raise the temp 5-8 degrees. I think I will start doing smaller water changes when it is cold.

I imagine any receptacles that large, would need to be placed outside, or in a garage...Both would be expensive...Swing it, as in, afford the arguably unnecessary added expense...
