So I have got a new 30G sump up and running....everything pump/return wise is working perfect, but imbetween the media chamber and pump chamber there are what looks to be VERY small bubbles or film forming. Now this chamber is where the sponge is catching most of the bubbles/debris. This small bubble type film is going away when I turn off the pump. Has anyone else experienced this or know what it is? I would take pictures, but my girl friend in all her wisdom got her very expensive camera wet and destroyed the internal mechanisms.

Thanks,

No, though I haven't installed the media yet. I have been testing to make sure pump/return outputs are equal since last sunday. The only thing I have added to the tank beside water and eco-complete is enough prime for a total of 105G. I am thinking I just might drain the whole thing almost to the bottom and refill with fresh water in both the sump and main tank. I just don't want to start a fishless cycle and then finish that only to find out this mysterious film kills all my beloved fish.
