please excuse my photo taking skills. so today is one of the best days i've had in a looong time, my new best friend eggie gave me eight motas ranging from 3"-4.5" for free ninety nine. great looking fish if i do say so myself. i put them in, did a water change and moved everything around and they seem like they're taking nicely. the texans don't seem to care for them too much, the con kept following one, they wanted nothing to do with my larger jag and the largest mota(which i'm thinking is a male) went right after my festae(him being the big sh*t of the tank.) thanks again eggie, YOU'RE THE MAN!!

sweet

i'm thinking they might be the yellow variant or is it too soon to tell if they're the red tiger version?

my girlfriend drove home but the funny thing is is that i didn't get a drop of water on me until we got right in front of the house then i ended up with half the bucket on me haha.

look more like freddi or loisellei hybrids to me. i have a 3" male mota and already has alot of red spots all over i am not 100% on what they are but they are not motas. the 2 fish in the 6th pic down look totaly different to me as far as body shape

Congrat's on gettin' the fish you wanted..........yours are quite a bit larger than mine, mine still around inch and pretty much white as casper. I'm happy for ya - enjoy!

you know i was actually thinking this just a little bit ago, i think maybe three or four of them have really weird head shapes. from the front of the dorsal fin to the jaw it completely slopes there's no forehead hump like you usually see with motas. but then the others have the typical mota head shape and body color. i'll try to get some pictures to help explain better.
