Anyone have any experience keeping these guys together w/ cichlids?

Most of what I read says to keep them in a species only tank. I seen some pple suggesting that the Exodons might end up descaling and plucking the eyes out of any Cichlids. I have a 7" Mota and 7" JD along w/ a 5" Freddy and 5" Five Star General in my 125g. I heard the Exodons are prone to attack fish w/ shiny silver scales and my 5 Star General happens to be the definition of a fish w/ shiny silver scales. But the 5 Star is so aggressive, I can't picture a tetra getting the best of him.

I wanna hear some opinions and get a better idea of the feasibility of keeping them w/ my cichlids before I buy anything though. Has anyone ever kept them w/ their cichlids? Do you think it'll pose a problem?

I had an exodon (around 3") with cichlids about the same size as yours and it didn't work out. The problem is it won't face off with your cichlids it'll just swim circles around them and occasionally pick scales off. Exodons never stop moving and your cichlids will most likely ignore it when they figure out they can't catch it. It's not like the exodon will kill your other fish overnight it'll just lead to stress and possibly disease. Not to mention your cichlids will look beat all the time.

your fish will kill and eat the exos

I have one in there w/ him now, they haven't even looked at him twice. I'm hoping cause the Exo's are semi agressive themselves that they would be able to keep a small school without being eatin
