Got this idea eyeballing my expanse of plastic coffee cans.
326 gram Folger's coffee can
5/8" vinyl water line($0.60/ft)
1/2" vinyl water line($0.60/ft)
Open core filter foam
Handfull of gravel
With a drill and step bit(reduces burrs and cleaning later) punch a 1/2" hole in the lid of coffee can. Feed 2" of 1/2" line through and slide 5/8" line tails over top and bottom to secure lid and line together(soaking in warm water makes the line plyable and they will slide over oneanother). I measure the holes in the can but use the step bit to drill and deburr multiple holes around sides and bottom of can. Cut and fit your open core foam and punch holes in the water line inside the can. Fill bottom portion of can with gravel and fit lid with foam on top.leech and rinse accordingly and watch your air pump do more than just aerate water. If you didn't use a step bit use a bit of sandpaper to deburr.
