So after my last attempt at getting a flowerhorn from Thailand fell through I decided to keep it simple and go local, and so I found forum member fl_tropicalfish who had some fry from his male thai silk and parrot mom. Buying a fish locally is pretty cool, I got to see the parents and siblings. I picked out one, then I really liked another, so I got two and one is growing on me, but the other one I have already bonded with on a deeper level, lol.
So without further ado, heres the little guy himself. I really like his shape and colors. He has a lot of his father in him with his moms shape, and he is really good natured. Even though he is bigger than the other guy, he was definitely getting pushed around. Now theyre in separate tanks and he is really starting to show off for me. He's still a little skittish, but hes young and his tank is bare. Ill be adding some gravel, stones and background very soon.
