Hey guys, I just got a small school of buenos aires tetras today and they're being quarantined and wanted to know if they're fin nippers. I have a turquoise severum that I've been treating with salt and melafix in a bucket for about 2 weeks to heal up some ich and badly nipped fins (i bought him cuz he was getting torn up by some blood parrots) and he is finally looking healthy. I'd like to move him to the temporary QT tank but am wary as to whether the buenos aires will try to harm him at all. Anybody have any insight on whether they think these guys will try anything? The tetras are about 1.5" ea and the sev is about 2"

I've never known them to be fin nippers, but I am legally insane. Best to wait and get some advice from others.

Haha, thanks xD

I have never noticed mine nipping other fish, they do seem to squabble amongst themselves though. They may intimidate more mellow fish at feeding time as they are quite ferocious when food hits the water, especially with bloodworm.

I have the same combo, but my severum is much larger. The severum and the BAT's pretty much ignore each other. There is one boss BAT that chases the others sometimes, but that's about it. They seem to be calmer the larger the school is.

cool deal, so far no problems it's just a temporary setup until I get some of my stock sorted out
