the more i look at these fish the more i think they are closely linked. i know, i know, obviously they are tetras so that was a stupid newsflash right? but these 2 species in particular just look the most like eachother..
whats more shocking is that when i looked into the buenos tank i noticed one eating a falling scale from another that got knocked. though they don't swim anything like exodons, they just have some interesting lingering traits of eachother.
infact i can't take my eyes off of most tetras now. lol but some are just out there and look nothing like their cousins like congos and neons. too pudgy in the face and fins just formed in odd shapes. but these two i really wonder.
i couldn't find good enough pictures to show you how close the dimensions and finnage is on these guys. most pictures are of bent or tucked fins and the fish blurry. but look at the mouths, shape, and fins. placement of the eyes and nostrils, everything.
