Anyone else seen their bichir do death rolls? I'll throw big chunks of krill in the tank and the only ones that do it are the buettikoferis. The others just grab and yank, but it's a trip when those little buetts go into the roll. My friends' comin down with some bangin video equipment next month, and I hope I can get some film (er.... binary code) of them in action. Is is a specific thing as I've seen, or do all types do it?

Sure have seen it - neat stuff

mine grabs chunks of food and then rams his head into a corner and swims against it until he is sure no one will take the food from him

No its not species specific they do it to tear bite size chunks out of prey.I have a sene that grabs my pinky and tries to roll lol

Those Buttukofori's are some of the meanest most aggressive fish I've ever seen, man they are nasty.

u are thinking talipia not polypterus lol

I've only seen my endlis do it, but it's deffinitely not species specific.

The one only times I've seen them do it is when I dropped whole nightcrawlers into the tank and more than one grabs the worm. Very cool to watch. :D

hmmm no never seen that...something to look forward to I guess :)
