These buffalo fish i see fishermen catching at our local damn are enormous but beautiful fish, drum too.. any captive care info?

Many Bufallos are filter feeders and do poor in aquaria unless you have a good microorganism population in your tank. Smallmouth Bufallos are one that tend to do alright in captivity given you provide the enough food and a large enough tank. They're more suited for ponds than tanks. As far as drums go, they can do well in tanks but I'd go a minimum of 180 gallons with larger being preferable. They'll out grow a 180 in time but they grow very slow so you'd have time. I'm actually planning on getting one for a 240 gallon I'm setting up next Sunday.
