Bug bites anyone? New fish food

New fish food available..... made with insects. Interesting product, I ordered a bag of the cichlid formula from Amazon to try out. Im not switch over anytime soon but I thought worth a try and will mix it in with my other foods.

Looks neat! Bugs are sweet. The packaging and information looks very appealing to me. Also like the idea of feeding insects in addition to "meaty" foods. Will be interesting to see how it appeals to Porkchop and the polys. My guess is the ansorgii will go crazy. Lol idk why.

I dont like the Fish Protein Concentrate as one of the ingredients. I think it does say somewhere that 40% of it is made up of insect protein so it does show as the first ingredient followed by salmon. You would think that the Ethoxyquin levels would be much lower in this food since the insects are the primary protein. Anyway I am trying the M/L cichlid pellet which is like 5-7mm and supposed to be a slow sinking.

Funny you mention the ansorgii, it has been very outgoing and feeding on pellets heavily during the daytime. It would do this when I fed Massivore but then stopped when I stopped feed that pellet. Now it has taken a shine to the Omega One algae wafers and Northfin Carnivore. It was seriously chowing on pellets last night. Im thinking there is a growth spurt about to happen.

what is ethoxyquin? is this a common ingredient in fish food?

very peculiar. Perhaps that's why he has been flexing so much. Lots of testosterone and is gonna have a big growth spurt! Or perhaps he's living up to his namesake and just really hungry.
