Today I was standing at a bus stop talking on the phone when suddenly an insect came screaming through my line of vision. A split second later, something pierced my cheek and immediately started burning pretty strong. The consistent pain was gone after 20 or 30 minutes, and after that, it only hurt when I touched it. It wasnt excruciating like Vespid Wasp stings are said to be, and there is no way it was a Cicada Killer or any large solitary species like that, because I would have heard it approaching when it got within a few feet. It couldnt have been a honey bee, because there was no stinger left behind. It was a pretty decent, though short-lived, sting... it was definitely enough to make me say "wow, this sucks".
I have been afraid of bees and Wasps since I was really really young. Now I remember why.
So... whaddya guys think?
