I have finally broke down and decided to take my "babys" in... they have outgrown their tank, and are beginning to fight...

I would rather get a bigger tank and keep them, but hubby wont allow it...

If you need me to speak with your husband I will gladly do so. Honestly, that seems very cruel and unusual and I dont mean to start trouble but its not unreasonable to want to move a pet into its needed housing, disallowing it and forcing you to give up your pets is something out of sharia law, dont allow yourself to be treated like that.

there are all kinds of good deals on used tanks on CL. Why not look there? I would never and i mean never allow someone to make me do something that i didn't want to do. Whats so wrong with looking for a cheap used tank?

maybe some of you arent married, or maybe she didnt include the circumstances of why her husband wont allow another larger fish tank. im all about keeping fish, but maybe she has some real life circumstances that do not allow for a larger tank: i.e. money, space, cost of upkeep just to name a few. and im surprised that theres not someone on here flaming her for buying 2 oscars and not having the proper size tank to begin with.

Sad situation. Does your husband have a hobby? Would you try to stop him from doing the next thing he wants to do in that hobby? Maybe you can still reason with him, but I'm married to a brick wall, too, so I totally understand.

yes.. that about sums it up!!

The house we are living is very very old... the basement is dug, and the wiring isnt up to code.... So that was his reasoning behind it... I already have two 55g in the living room, and a 30g in the dining room... sooo...

if and when we get our own house (we rent) I WILL have a fishy room in the basement... he has guns and a classic car for hobbys... ( and his stupid damn giant upside down catfish that he REFUSES to get rid of... grr)

lol I have fish...

And yes, I should have never got the Oscars knowing that they were going to outgrow their tank... I just started keeping fish 2 years ago.. and i was ignorant... I had had those guys for about 1 1/2 years... now I know... everything I have now will b under 6 inches full grown.. lol
