hello folks i am going to be building a 240 gallon aquarium with the demonsions of 4x4x2 it's gonna be a 4 ft sq and 2 foot tall. Ok back to the point i was wondering for this aquarium what thickness of acrylic i should use and also what silcone would hold for this might tank. Also how much the acrylic is gonna run me per sq feet. Any help is much aprreciated!

Is this an all acrylic tank?
Acrylic + Silicone = wet floor.
Acrylic needs to be bonded (cemented for lack of a better term), unless you will have a frame that the acrylic will sit in, where the silicone will simply act as a gasket, and the water will "push" the acrylic to the frame.

o it does? but glass can be siliconed?

Yes, glass can be siliconed. Acrylic can be siliconed also, but only if the acrylic will sit in some sort of frame. If you are wanting to build an all acrylic tank, then you will need to acrylic bond the seams.
