I'm going to tear my pond out and replace the liner with concrete. I'm trying to work out the bugs so I was going to ask you guys what problems you've had using concrete so I can address them now. Any advice on the plumbing ,pumps or overflow ideas would be appreciated. I have a lot of it planned out but outside advice always seems to come handy. I've heard people mention leaching lime with rain water, what is this and would a simple drain tile going to a sump pump solve this problem .:grinno: You may have seen my pond but if not here's a picture, It's going to be a chore to tear out.

all that i know about concrete pondsis to let them cure before filling otherwise the lye leaches into the water or something

lime is an ingredient in concrete.
If you dont let your pond cure it will put the lime in the water which would possibly harm you fish.

no a drain will not solve this problem.
the only way to solve this problem is to cure the cement or coat it with some kind of a sealer.

lol you got that backwards... its this

Im looking at it now. i would still use a liner on top of the concreet since its going to wick the water away from your pond into the ground and vice versa... you will need to aply a ruberizes sealer to avoid this and rto prevent cracking. if you dont seal and cure the concreet you will kill your fish. not only that but inorder for it not to crack you will need alot of rebar and this will add strength sut if you dont seal it the iron will leach into the pond and slowly poisin the fish. a liner or a epoxi paint or a ruberized sealer is the best opttion...

edit... i just read the site. this is a good product. from what i herd, a guy used this on his ray pond...

use only pond paint like..pondtite....or crommelin pond sealer... the slower cement cures the better and stronger its
