Hello!!!

I am building a new bowl for my fish :)
Its planned to use my basement for it. I just want to build a wall of 130cm height and fill the space behind with water...
Sounds simple but there are some important questions.
The main question is how thick should the glass be? I thought about a laminated safety glass of 16,5mm thickness (8mm glass/Lamination/8mm glass). Will it be enough?

Second question...the wall I wanna build. I planned to use bricks (about 400mm *200mm). Will they be strong enough?

Here are some pictures... waterstand shall be 120cm..Aquarium02.JPG

Nice! Cant wait to see it:) KEEP US UPDATED!

The glass should be thicker? 19mm floatglass is the next option. But in my case its only 80cm of water (concerning the glass)?! I thought if I compare it with a aquarium of the similiar size...16,5mm should be enough. If i look for a normal aquarium of 250cm*80cm*80cm they are made of 15mm floatglass.

Wow, thats cheap! Just to confirm...the total thickness of your glass is 30mm plus the lamination?
Here in germany I have to pay 1000.- EUR for 19mm of floatglass. My dutch is too bad...do they offer shipping to germany too?
