Well after convincing the boss it would be a good idea building instead of buying a new one I am starting the planning on a new tank. Tank will be either 60x36x24 or 72x36x24. Now the first question. I was given 3 55g tank from a local member. All 3 are leakers and I plan on resealing them. One of htem is an old one that has NO center brace and looks to be atleast 3/8" glass. Would that glass be good for the tank I want to build? the 5' one would probably fit perfect. Would be approximately 225 gallons. thinking of using the 2 side panes in the side of the 5'er also. Plan is 2-3 layers of fiberglass and polyester resin then a couple of coats of Epoxy of some sort maybe sweetwater.

Thanks in advance.

according to GARF the glass should be perfect. any suggestions?

I'm a little confused at what you are attempting. Any way we could get a pic or a drawing mock-up?

Tank will be similar to the Marineland Deep Dimensions 5' tank that measures 60x36x27 and is 250 gallons.
