I have a 220 gallon that for some reason is leaking on the bottom panel. Can't seem to find where from so thought about building a plywood tank out of the glass from the front and back panel. Thinking it would be roughly 430 to 450 gallon plywood tank. Would you think the glass would be thick enough to handle such a tank? Any advice/ suggestions would be great, thanks

well how thick is your glass? how tall is your proposed plywood tank? off the top of my head i would say 5/8" or 3/4" thick glass is what youre looking for depending on the height of the tank. I'll let someone with more experience building tanks step in though.

I believe the glass is 1/2 thick. And it's either 29 or 30 inch tall can't recall the exact height. It's in storage so can't get the exact measurements this minute. But I want to say 29

i would say 1/2" is your minimum for 30" tall. depending on your tank brand, you might have a 5/8" front and back panel though. is the tank hellaciously heavy? good indicator of thicker than average glass lol.
