Hi guys and girls!
We are building a small garden house this spring. It will be like 3x5 meters, and we want to integrate a smaller concrete tank in one of the short ends to get some 1500-2000 litres of water. The floor will be solid reinforced concrete (insulated to the ground), and walls/roof will also be fully insulated - as winters are very cold over here.
We have thought of building the part of the house where the tank will be, in insulated concrete, then the rest of the house in wood.
Pvc piping etc will be integrated in the floor/tank/building, so it requires a little bit of planning.
To start with we want to keep Koi or other fish that can live in cold waters, so that we dont need extreme heating in the winter. We are also building it with good ventilation to keep it as cool as possible in the summer when it gets extreme (rarely gets very hot for a long time).

Has anyone done something similar?

Here's a thread that comes to mind on building an aquarium room in a shed near Chicago. (Comparable I imagine to parts of Norway), since Chicago gets down to -25 F with a wind chill down to -60 F. (I used to live there. brrrrrr!)

It might have some good ideas.
