Building a small fishing boat

I've doing some planning this week for building a small fishing boat. My plan right now is for a 12' long John boat that is 3.5' wide at the stern, tapering to 2' wide at the bow. I was wondering if anybody has ever built a small plywood/fiberglass boat similar to this that could give me some tips. I'll post the drawings I've done so far for the plans later.

Its ALOT cheaper to just buy an aluminum 12' jon boat. I routinely see them for around two hundred bucks on craigslist.
