building a stand for a 125g

i wont tto build a stand for a 125g. but i need some ideas. please help mfk!!!!!! it has a stand now but the only good thing on it is the door

the one you have now is probably not he most aesthetic of stands, but it's working and it looks sturdy. why not just stain it? it would look 10 times better.

cuz the spot i wont it in is really tight, and it is like 6 inchs wider tha needed

not sure on how well it's built frame wise, but looks sturdy, why not just narrow that one up a little, save money, and you won't have anymore time in it than building a whole new one. or leave it wide if possible, it's nice having a small shelf sometimes when cleaning, lol. if you just don't like it, try searching diy stand lot's of nice ones have been built on here with plenty of pictures

It should be pretty simple. Build the skeleton out of 2x4s (vertical supports at the ends and 1 or 2 in the middle) then skin it in plywood, add some doors, maybe some trim, and stain it.

so i started my rebuiled of the stand. i was gonna trim it down but found out that the stand was really poorly built. i tore it down and started all from scrap. so here are the up dates

im not to sure how support the uprights. the brace on the picture was not screwed in. just a thought.

once you screw them to the top of the stand, and screw the plywood to the outside to each verticle support you should be fine, if you want more than that you could always run a horizontal piece of 2x4 en between each upright about halfway up, but i doubt you'll need it, depending on the thickness of your plywood.

well i was planing in wraping the out with 1/2 cherry wood. just wonted to build a stand so i can set the tank up. so i need it sturdy enough to hold a fully set 125g
