hey guys, im looking to make a d-i-y stand for a standard 180 gallon aquarium. im by no means an experienced carpenter but if you guys could point to some articles that would help. i looked around for a while but didn't really find what i was looking for-

thanks!

a standard 2x4 frame would work great .. there are a bunch of stands in the DIY section .. 90% are 10 times stronger then they need to be .. and will work perfect for your needs .. just pick the style you like most and copy the build ..

depends on the tools you have .. and the way your going to build it ...

i know someone who built one out of 2x4's but used bolts so that they could take it apart if they ever needed .. the cost was much much more ..

but just the cost of 2x4's and screws .. how ever your going to cut the wood .. the total cost should not be to bad ..

if you want it to look really nice .. you can always get some nice finished plywood and wrap it ..

then go to the MFK store and get some of them steal cut outs .. the possibilitys are endless...

that stand build is really strong .. wont cost to much .. and you can always add finished plywood to the outside to clean it up and make it look really good .. and it can be done later ...
