ok you guys get to tell me if this is going to be possible or not.

ive got two 55 gallon tanks sitting collecting dust.

my plan is to take them both completely apart so each glass panel is seperate.

use one of the 4 foot x 22" panes of glass as the BOTTOM of the tank, then use the 12"x22" panes as the sides, and the two original bottom pieces that are 12"x48" for the front/back of the tank, making the tank 22" front to back, 12" tall, and 4 feet long.

does this sound do-able with these existing parts?

this will leave me left over with three 4foot x 22" panes of glass, i was going to use those and have the local glass shop make me two side panels and have a 4 foot x 22 x 22 tank which would be right around 100 gallons

ive resealed 4-5 tanks already, no problems there, and ill order the corner molding pieces to help support the tank, i just want to know if this seems to be a good plan or not.

Do you know if the bottom glass it tempered or not?

I just took one side off of two 55g tanks and put them back together (special table).

And one made from two 55g end to end for a river tank, but I welded special bracing for that one.

there was no actual tag on the tank that said it was tempered, my other tanks (larger ones) have a tag on them that say do not drill, tempered glass, will shatter.

the 55 gallons are the same brand, but i cant remember its name right off hand.

might be all-glass brand or something like that.

the glass appears to be 1/4" thick glass,5/16's thick at max.
