Well when the fish room originally started I had all 10-20 gallons and some other bigger tanks. From there I went to all big tanks 7 being over 100 gallons and now I'm having problems with filtration and have been loosing a lot of fish so now I am going to build a system out of 20 gallon tanks.any tips on building one in gonna have then pump pump the water to the top row and then flow the the row under it. The dump will be on the bottom right of the picture under the 220 gallon tank and the wall straight ahead will be turned into the system. The sump will be a 75 gallon tank packed with lava rock. I think it should be plenty a buddy of mine had 31 tanks 10-29 gallons hooked to a 55 gallon sump and is doing just fine image.jpeg

I have been looking at the systems on this forum and I don't see too many complicated or impressive builds for filtration. Though some of the tanks look great. That tells me you don't need much more than consistent water changes. You can easily create sumps out of all those tanks. You may want to take a look at some of the reef builds on other websites for ideas.

I considered doing something similar, but ended up going in a different direction. I got a massive air pump (pondmaster 1000) and about 20 sponge filters. I prefer to have each tank isolated so that I can control the temp and not cross contaminate my tanks in the event of some type of illness. There is a simple diy overflow design on the DIY kings channel that I am using for a wet/dry setup you might want to check out.You could build one for each tank and tie them all together. How many tanks are you planning on tying into the system?
