Building a tank.

I would like to build a fish tank from scratch and I am a little skeptical on doing it because I would like to build a 300 gallon tank and I definitely do not want 300g spilling all over my house because I did something stupid so if anyone could tell me how to or tell me of a trusted web sight that could inform me how to do it
