JUST PURCHASED A 125G WITH A BUILT IN SUMP. SUMP IS ON BACK SIDE OF TANK. MY FIRST, HOW DO I SET THIS UP. I SEE THE PERSON BEFORE ME HAD BIO MEDIA BALLS AND SPONGES. IS THIS OK

Pretty weak description..but, a filter is a filter
Normal filter media stack would be something to trap debris before it gets to your bio media.
Filter floss, sponge, etc.
Make this stuff as easy to remove as possible, for cleaning/changing.
From those basics, you can expand...
Not knowing if you have any built in dividers in this sump or if you have a drilled tank does limit any specific answer.

here are some pictures of the actual sump. i played with it today but not sure if its right:confused:

Looks pretty good. Just put some mechanical filter material over the drip plate (one with holes), not in with the biomedia and you should be ready to go.

so the filter media go on the dip plate and not above the bio balls! and more bio-balls

Add more bio balls....

other then that, your good to go....

Oh..mas cool!!!
Dual filtration..other than how far away from the wall this needs to be, I like it..
Only thing I would do, would be to make a holder for your mech. media..the stuff before the bio balls, that will filter the crud out before it gets to your balls...dirty balls do not help anyone or anything...
With a holder, you can just pull it all out, together for cleaning or replacement.
