Hey I was out tank hunting today, after last month having found a 55g along with some smaller tanks, and I came across a pretty big octagon tank, im thinking its 30-50 gallons ( confirm/deny?) . Problem is it has no frames, which im sure actually dont help much in support as they do in aesthetics. Does anyone knwo where i can find octagon frames? If neccesary, whats the process for resealing these thanks? I've done resealing on big rectangles but never anything else.

lol we got a big trash day coming up I did not think of that. Good idea. Resealing that would make an experienced sealer look like your 5 year old took finger paint to it.

Yeah bro get at there, my tank total is 5 since the first weds in may, most tanks are perfectly fine or just need a resealing which is only like 5 bucks so its profitable or you can just have some nice tanks in your home. My best tanks I got for free are my 75g, the 55g which i need to reseal, and now this octagon which i need to find out its gallons, i think its a 45 or something. I dont think it will need a resealing, i think it was just thrown out because its frame broke

thats sweet.

please explain how you go tank hunting
i am really interested in this lol :)

here is a ghetto trick for ya

my 150g custom was rimless.

take black electrician tape, take your time and suddenly your tank looks like its rimmed and unless someone is a perfectionist they wont even notice

You wait for those days once a month where you're allowed to throw out all the furniture and stuff you don't need, people can through out some really nice stuff. Most people get frustrated with their tanks or their fish die or anything to that effect, and they throw out their tanks, often with accesories included. Go out driving around your town these days and I can almost promise you'll find something

Yall really oughta check out the craigslist.com free section. Thats where I got my 55 from. They normally go pretty quick but I have seen 3 or 4 more 30-55 gallon tanks in the past two weeks up there.
