I am getting ready to start plumbing my 225s but have some questions. I had a friend build me a dual metal stand stand to hold the tanks. The tanks are both 6 ft long, 42 inches wide and 17 inches deep (think the depth is right). My fish room is not too tall so the first tank sits 16 inches off the ground. The tanks will be plumbed separately and are both drilled with one 2 inch bulk head and two 1.5 inch bulk heads which I would like to use two as drains for the sump and one to drain the tank for water changes. I have looked at many gph flow charts for the bulk heads. The one thing I was not sure if they took in consideration the distance off the ground? The fact that mine are only 16 inches off the ground will this affect flow? They will all have stand pipes. I want to have about a 5-7 times tank turn over and am worried that I might flood the tank! I am going to use a 55 gallon drop for mechanical filtration which will overflow into a 75 gallon trough that I think is 44 inches long x 31 wide x 16 tall.
