1st: thanks for taking time to read my thread.

I'm close to completion on my plywood tank, and I'm to the point of plumbing for filtration. I can't find a bulkhead fitting that will be long enough to connect through a 3/4 plywood frame.

i thought about just sticking a pvc pipe through the plywood and using pvc connections on either side and sealing with silicone. I'm not happy with that idea.

Anyone know where to buy bulkheads that will be long enough or have any other DIY idea?

Thanks again ahead of time for taking time to read and reply.

Try Jehmco.com as well. John has a pretty good assortment of bulkheads available.

Man I feel your pain, the bulk heads I can get locally just barley go through my acrylic tank, if I try to put a overflow box in the tank then I can only get like 1 and a half turns on the bulkhead. Its very scary, there other day I went to take the bulkhead out to replace the overflow box with just a 90, all I did was reach in to grab the overflow box and the bulk head came undone.

Also a side note, I have tried the using silicone in the gap between the fittings; this is a bad bad idea. Any time you bumb the plumbing or the fish bump it, the seal gets weaker and weaker until its gone. Not to mention my pipe vibrate a little from the water flow.
