Hi all,
Complete newb to the forum and newb to sumped aqauriums.
I have recently bought a 150 UK gallon aquarium i am setting up as cold water. The tank has two 60mm holes drilled in the back pannel, one either side near the top. I have 40mm pipe bulkheads that came with the tank, however with the pipework attatched (durso setup) these push the aquarium out too far from the wall for my liking.
What i would like to know is would it be acceptable to silicone (using aquarium silicone of course) two 50mm (60mm external diameter) T pieces into the holes as apposed to using the bulkheads?
This would reduce the depth of the pipework from around 5.5 inches to just over 2 inches and also allow me to up the pipe size from 40mm to 50mm, allowing greater flow.
If anyone has any other suggestions for a slimline bulkhead design for 60mm holes please let me know. I am eager to order the pipework but want it set up right from the start.
Thank you in advance,
Craig.
