Well just last Sunday I went and picked up my new (used) 180g tank. Its actually less than a year old and I got it for a great price. I'm working on setting up the plumbing atm and have a question about the whole for the overflow. Thank tank came with a single center overflow box. It is already drilled. The hole itself seems to be 2 3/8". What size bulkhead would I need for this?

Thanks,
Ryan

Just a bit of info that may come in handing when looking at suppliers sites...

A bulkhead is a hole...

A bulkhead fitting is the adapter that fits into the hole allowing pipes/tubing to run through the surface that has a hole in it without leaking...

Some plumbing manufacturers will state they have a "1 inch blukhead fitting for a 1 7/8 inch bulkhead"...

Actually, bulkhead refers to the wall or partition itself. Therefore a bulkhead fitting is a fitting designed to allow you to penetrate a wall or partition. If the manufacturer used "bulkhead" to refer to the size of the hole, they did so erroneously.

2 3/8" hole should allow for a 1.5" bulkhead.

Yep, it is a wall. It is a nautical term that comes from the Navy. And not the US Navy. They got it from the navy that came before them... the Royal Navy. It has meant a wall for centuries, but with the introduction of the internet, it has been skewed to be a hole and a plastic thing.
