I am getting a 450 that I am going to run a sump on.
I will be starting a filtration thread for sure, but in the mean time, where do you guys buy the bulkheads?
I've looked at Lowes and Home Depot but didn't see anything.

If I'm not mistaken, the tank has 5 holes drilled at the top of the back panel. I believe 2 are the same size and the other 3 are a smaller size. I need to do all the work from there.

I plan to use 2 pumps for the return water

i sent a message to the seller, but i forget what he said when we talked about it before
maybe 1 1/2 on 3, and 2 1/2 on the other 2 ??

will standard PVC fit into the bulkheads pretty easy?

Most on-line aquarium/fish stores have them. I did a quick google search for aquarium bulkheads and got this........

I always buy the schedule 80 bulkheads. They are more expensive but they are heaver built. Initially I used the cheaper ones but I had a few crack on me after only a few months. I had one leaking under a tank and I just snugged it up a little and that cracked! Huge problem because the only way to change a bulkhead at the bottom of a tank is to completely drain it! So far I have never had a schedule 80 bulkhead crack on me (knock on wood).

As far as bulkheads go of course you get the size to fit your hole. Also you will have a choice of slip fittings or pipe thread. The slip fitting is a glued type and pipe thread you just screw your plumbing in place. Also you can get a combination of this in one bulkhead. For example the fitting inside the tank can be threaded and the out side of the tank can be slip all in the same bulkhead. So for a 1 inch hole you can have 4 choices of bulkhead fittings in schedule 80 type. Then you may have another 4 choices in schedule 40!

Good luck!
