bullet proof pleco got shot :(

my largest and most prized pleco has recently fallen ill due to ich that affected my tank a while back. it seems to be hitting my plecos now and my larger one is floating around the tank at a verticle angle, if there is anything i can do to save him at this point, do share! he's not quite dead but getting there!:(:confused:
 
Sorry to hear, in my experience, they just go belly up and die, I lost two huge commons within days for no reason, both were about 8 years old and quite large. The rest of the tank was unaffected?
 
my tank got ich a while back and the plecos came out victorious, now after a major death toll and loss of fish (i tried my hardest, they just didn't make it) my plecos are beginning to get ich.

im at awe still as he was my prized pleco!
 
well my oldest pleco never got ich and still doesn't have ich, im a little curious as to why he doesn't, but my second pleco which is the newest one is beginning to get ich!
 
if you guys used copper based ich medication THAT kills plecos. its gets in the alage in the tank and also settles to the bottom. the pleco ingests and dies!
 
i have not had any long term water quality problems just got ick about 3 weeks ago and killed alot of fish.

i havebeen keeping up on water changes and i don't think the meds are copper based. but i didn't know that and i will stay away from copper based in the future.

As most of you are thinking he is deceased, died yesterday. really sucks
