Anyone here keep bullfrogs? I would like to see some pics of their enclosures so I can get some ideas on how to set up a tank for mine. Thanks

american or african bullfrogs? if you're talking about american bullfrogs then you're looking at something like a standard 120g for a full grown adult, i've got a 180g that i'm looking to put some highly aquatic frogs in and i don't even really want to put an american bullfrog in that.

Im just talking about american bullfrogs. Sorry I didnt even thing about specifying that lol. I have a 55 that im gonna be using for now. I caught 6 tadpoles on Monday, one had front and rear legs, 4 had only rear legs, and one had no legs. Now one is pretty much a frog w/ barely a stub left for a tail and 4 have front and rear legs while the last one still doesnt have any legs. Ive kept them in a 10 gallon w/ a small area of land.

Basically a half and half dry/wet area, a filter for the water with some circulation is a must. I'd do an acrylic divider about 4-5" high to contain the wet area to 1/2 of the tank, and then build the dry side up with a good vivarium substrate.

that is exactly the way I kept my Africans. Pity is that (i) they hardly used the wet part and (ii) spent their entire life under the substract on the dry area.

I now have them, like all other frogs, in fauna boxes with loose substract and a generally humid environment...see much more of them, this way.

My mom made a pretty cool setup for her American bullfrogs. She took an old coffee table and sunk a 20-high into one side, then made a large terrarium out of plywood and plexiglass over the whole thing. She's got some nice live plants, mosses, etc, and her frog (used to be three but but bad things happen:() is pretty happy. He spends about equal amounts of time in both parts. And somehow, he can get out of the tank without a ramp or anything, even when the water is several inches lower than the top.
