yeah, they get HUGE, eat everything, and need a lot of space. i had a few for a while ,they are more annoying than anything else. and yes, they are really loud

Simple flour dredge, oil at about 325F...
I used to catch 10-20 a trip to the local fairgrounds pond when I was 10 or so.... They're strong enough to knock a 5lb plate weight off a 10g, hop down the hallway, and greet your mother in her bedroom.
You'd really need a good deal of space to keep them happy. Easier to catch and relocate them to a garden pond if you're really after them.
Related containment story... If you remember those old galvanized minnow buckets with the clip latch on top.... Water moccasins are strong enough to pop those open, but only when you put them in a pavilion full of southern women. I've never seen that many girls get on top of a table that fast in my life.
