I have seen a few threads recently about bullheads tearing up tanks. One of my plants was floating when I got home, so I did a water change, and replanted it. The little bastard swims up to the plant, grabs it with his mouth, and drops it. I loaded my shotgun, then thought better of it. Apparently it's tough to shoot fish in a barrel.

ya, after only about 6" into the water the shot would disapate!....lmao
go to the fish store and get some lead strips, wrap them around the plants and your good to go....might even kill th bullhead of lead poisoning....saves you a few shells!!!

I moved him to the bigger tank today, hopefully he will leave the plants alone. If not, I will forget the plants and try some other cover.

You can soak compressed peat discs and poke the plant into a hole in it then place that in a small pot, I have had that work with several fish that pulled up plants

My madtom does the same thing.

Stangly enough, a shotgun slug will travel farther through water then a high power rifle because it travels at a much slower speed.

It's because the power is to much when the bullet hits the water. I learned that on Myth Busters. Did you hear that mom TV can teach me something. lol:ROFL:

I feel your pain, my black bullhead loves to rip up the plants in my tank. If he wasn't my favorite it would be frying pan time.

I would feel bad killing it since I snatched it out of the lake to be in my tank. The plants will have to deal, I guess.
