Im going to Daytona beach 7/2-7/6 to help my mother move. Does anyone know any LFS that sell bullhead sp or any specific area where i could catch them? Im specifically looking for Ameiurus serracanthus (spotted bullhead) but still want other sp too

I caught a spotted last week. I'm about 45 minutes away from daytona. Pretty much any lake in Florida has the possibility of bullheads. Some people in the area have put some up on the B&S forum too. look it up.

I live on the other coast of Florida and catch them in many of the lakes and canals around me. I had my best luck catching them actually on hot dogs. I did see one at the LFS by me, it was in there for months, but got sold not to long ago. Since then I have not seen them at any of the LFS's in my area.

I've seen quite a few Petsupermarkets that bring in small Bullhead along with their feeder guppies. My friend bought one for a buck.

Then again, you'd have to be really lucky.

Yeah, I have seen quite a few come in with feeder fish.

All you really need to catch them is any lake in Florida, a hook, and chicken liver. I usually go out at about 10pm. Chum the area with Chicken liver blood/water and they usually start bighting like crazy at about 11pm. Works every time.

Sachs Aquaculture is in St. Augustine... not too far N of Daytona. And a google shows a few hatcheries listed for the daytona area - one is in Orlando, another in lakeland, etc.
