I have three IT's ~2" each and one of them is a real bully. He puts the smackdown on the other two like it's his job. There are plenty of places to hide. The other two are usually hiding except for the occasional spastic dash to grab some food before the bully catches them. So the bully is getting fat and comfortably chilling out in the open while the others aren't growing as quickly and don't eat nearly as much. Should I get more dats? Should I put the bully in a different tank for a while until the others catch up to his size (actually the bully is only like 1/4" bigger)? Should I just relax and let nature take it's course?

I would add more tigers if u have the space.
This will spread the aggression around.
try to get some that r a little bigger than the bully, and c how he likes being punked...

He's making sure they know who's boss. Adding more will spread out the aggression, but won't stop it. If you take out the "bully" then one of the other 2 will become the knew alpha and beat on the other one. All you can do is keep the hiding spots you have, and wait until the the size difference is large enough that the "bully" doesn't feel the need to remind them as often who the boss is.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try to get some more Dats, I have plenty of room for them at this size in the growout tank.

yup..add more dats....

More the merrier I found! but sometimes, it depends on the individual fish

:D
I have a 3" IT with funny bars, who has a mean streak. often tries to have a go at the bigger tigs, who are at least 4 to 5 times its body mass!!

Wow, sounds like a little menace. We should get yours and mine together and let them have it out. I'm getting two more next week and supposedly they're slightly bigger than the ones I have now.
