3 weeks ago I bought a 2 inch pbass out of 2 in a tank. He grew for 1.5 weeks and then i went back and got the other pbass that was in the tank with him at my lfs... No doubt due to better care by this point the original pbass was a good 4 inches. The other bass was still at 2 inches. Now they are in a ten gallon until they are big enough not to be eaten once they enter my 180 gallon. Since they got there, the bigger, original pbass, has coninually kicked the crap out the littler one with no fight back... they are both eating well but heres my question. Would it be better to put the smaller one in a spare 5.5 gallon I have? Or just wait it out because the bigger ones getting moved into the big tank in 1-2 weeks.

I would pick up another growout tank 55 gallons or so and put the bigger one in there. A 4" Cichla in a 10 gallon tank isn't really going to grow a whole lot in 1-2 weeks. And putting the 2"er in a 5.5 just sounds cruel.

One of the pbass already grew 2+ inches in two weeks.... the tank is 5 times as long as they biggest pbass and 2.5 times it in width and height whats wrong with that? I over feed them a bi, bumped up the temp and aeration, and do daily water changes to keep it reallllly clean. I also have a 55 gallon filter on it right now. A bigger tank is not an option... that all being said what would make it not grow in this situation...?

Everyone has a bully in there tank, they all mellow out at one point............
