So I have 4 orinos that are a little over 3" they grew up together since they were .5 ..Ive recently added a kelberi same size 3 inch about a week ago. The orinos seem to always pick on him only time they ever get together is during feeding time. Otherwise the orinos want nothing to do with the kelberi.

Any suggestions? If I were to remove all 5 of them then re introduce them into the tank would that help them bond a bit more?

Cichla's seem to do better in odd numbers for some reason, also add some dithers that will spread the aggression out, silver dollars, wide bars work really good because they get large too I would do 3 minimum.

I have them at an odd number total of 5 (kelberi included). I have have 3 tiger barbs and others that help spread aggression. Its just like hes the new one so Ill pick on you type deal. I have lots of cover so the Kelberi usually always finds a spot to hang out at until an orino comes around.

Lol I see that for some reason I had 3 O's and 1 kel on the brain my bad, how long has the kel been in with the O's?

When I have a situation like this I remove all bass, change the decorations and reintroduce. Usually does the trick

That's what I usually do just wanted to see if there were other ways. I ended up taking them out and did some rearranging to the decor left the lights off for awhile. Later on all the orinos were in a group and the kel was by himself. They are still picking on on the Kelberi
