I saw two threads on these guys. Who has them and how is it working out. Anyone convert to brackish/freshwater? Picts.
Very few people actually have a tank large enough to keep a bumble bee grouper. They become massive. The one member who kept one is now banned (thecanuck), and his girlfriend doesnt log in much anymore.bridgefisher;4670618; said:I saw two threads on these guys. It's 12'x2'x2', 300gal tank, and his grouper didn't get sick and died.. He left it at a LFS, and it diedKevin8888;4671245; said:BB groupers get to about 8 feet long, theCanuck had one that was just under 2' I believe. He was in the process of moving it into its temporary new home a 12' 700gal tank, when it got sick and died, he had plans for his next tank which was around 1200gal I believe... not sure the dimentions though... amd that wasn't even going to be his final tank. Suffice to say they need huge tanks and will not be health without lots of swimming room, so basicaly unless you can afford or can find a home for a fish that will require multiple thousands of gallons of tank size you would be better off getting a grouper that can thrive in a much smaller environment. Even then most don't do well in tanks under 12' long IMO because a 1-3' fish needs alot of room.

I really would like to know what the canucks parents occupations are...to keep springing for tanks and projects like that is awesome...but not cheap.
