So, the lfs that i got my two Columbian Shark Cats from also had two little Bumblebee Cats in with them, along with some other crazy stuff.
But I love the colors on the bumblebees and was wondering how big they get? Anyone have them? Any pointers? I havn't gotten one, but im thinking about it... have to wait till I have more money first.

Depends if its the south american or asian. SA will stay around 4". The asian will get about 8-9". I had a 8" asian living with larger datnoids and arrows. Hides a lot. Will show aggression to smaller fish and will tear out eyes and rip fins.

i have two giant bumbleebees, one is about 7" the other is about 4", they are very voracious and mine do not hide that much.

a lot of cats go by the common name "bumblebee cat" I'm guessing the cat in question is the little south american one (they are the most commonly availible). They are awesome little cats, but I had one for like two years (eaten by my p. lapridae...whoops). I kept forgeting I had it :). So needless to say, yes very very reclusive.

I've got a South American bumblebee in with two small cichlids in a 20g. He's between 2.5-3" and pretty active now. He didn't come out at all for about the first week plus, but now that he's comfortable he's always out when its time to eat, and occasionally I'll see him cruise a little during the day. Great fish.

Thanks for the help guys. I have no clue which kind it was, the label was only Bumblebee Catfish. But I went today to ask her what she was feeding my Columbia Cats since one isn't eatting, and they were gone. However she does have a very pretty Clown Knife in now for $12. I had to try very hard to resist... haha
Oh well, I like large cats anyway ;)

i have a bumblebee cat and its prob around 2 - 3 inches long and it hides under the bogwood all day everyday lol. i dont know if it even comes out at night but when a fish swims into his space he is soon to push them aside so i cant comment on his aggressiveness but cool looking

Well I talked to her today, and she thought it was the smaller of the varieties which wont work for me, so I had to pass, but I was happy to see my Columbia Cats finally ate today! :D
