Can someone tell me more about the bumblebee grouper? I thought this thing was only saltwater but pics on this site seem to indicate that they are freshwater.
Can any bumblebee grouper owners tell me how they got them?

they are saltwater but can adjust to the freshwater lifestyle for awhile

too bad almost all of them dont make it to adulthood in freshwater so we may never know

They are a salt water species, but I think they will live in fresh water for quite a while. If you are going to adopt one though, make sure you are prepared to have a huge fish on your hands.

people just convert them with the drip method. they cost a great deal, and die in just a couple of years because they are a saltwater species, not a freshwater. same principle on keeping all the nice "freshwater" morays and archers etc etc

Yeah, that is what I thought. Juveniles in the wild probably grow up in brackish mangrove forests like goliath groupers and most other saltwater fish. 3Q.
