So my angelfish that bred took care of the eggs until they became wigglers but they started to eat them. Seems the wigglers wouldn't stick back to the surface, so they just ate them. I have removed the parents from the tank but now the fry are just falling to the bottom of the tank. Will they survive on the bottom until they are free swimming? The tank is bare on the bottom. If not then I guess I will have more chances in the future to get this perfected.

Are you sure they were eating them? My angels would take the fry in their mouth and move them around, or put them back on the piece of wood. It was their first time breeding too.

i constantly have this problem with a pair of mine, but mine eat them before they hatch or after they hatch, it depends. tryed a few different options, usually if they allow them to hatch, taking the parents out would be a better option, some say that taking the male out will save them, i also read an article in a fish magazine that stocking the tank (assuming its a breeding tank with only the pair inside) with plenty of drift wood and a black background will make the parents feel safer and they will not eat the fry, i havent tryed that option yet, so im not sure how it will work, but there are many options to try for a successful spawn. another would be to take the parents out before they hatch and use bubble makers near the eggs as a ventilation source to hatch them.
